The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Yorkton Inc. is a non-profit, non-partisan organization concerned with promoting women’s equality and education.We have 27 members from a broad range of professional backgrounds and interests who have come together to participate in public affairs, pursue knowledge, contribute to the community and shar in lasting friendship. It is a fantasic way to keep active and stay involved locally!
Visitors and new members are always welcome!
At our general meeting, we host discussions on a variety of important issues. Anyone is welcome to attend, listen and have their voice heard. Debates, presentations and discussions with students, and fascinating monthly guest speakers contribute to our understanding of complex issues and inspire us to take on projects for social change. While there is often a focus on women’s rights, we are also committed to:
- Improving public eduction
- Environmental Stewarship
- Sustainable agriculture
- Reducing Poverty
- Childcar and Literacy
- Eliminating gendered violence
CFUW Yorkton was founded in 1954 and is affiliated with the Provincial, National (CFUW) and International Federation of University Women (IFUW). CFUW is a self-funded bilingual organization with members in all the provinces of Canada.
Membership is open to all women who share these ideals.
